Your pet will be having
surgery soon. Please be aware your pet may be under general anesthesia
and should come in the day of the scheduled procedure with an empty
stomach. This means your pet cannot have any food after 11:00 p.m.
and no water after midnight the night prior to the procedure.
Please bring your pet to
the hospital between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. and bring the completed
Surgical Disclosure Form. If you are unable to arrive with your pet
at the designated time, please make arrangements to drop your pet
off with us the night before the scheduled procedure. There is no
charge for hospitalizing your pet the night prior to the procedure
(please refer to the Overnight Hospital Stay Disclosure Form attached
to the Client Information Form.)
The veterinarians and technicians
will carry out post-surgical care when your pet's procedure is completed
and during the post-operative recovery period.
Discharge instructions
will be given to you upon your pet's release from the hospital. Discharge
times may vary according the invasiveness of the procedure and time
the procedure is performed. We will advise you on the discharge time
expected for you pet at the time of scheduling the procedure or when
the procedure is completed.
Please feel comfortable
asking all questions, and voicing all concerns, to our doctors and
support staff regarding your pet and the expected procedure.
